Set out the bathing tools, your dog’s appropriate shampoo, a towel and a secure footing surface before bringing your dog into the bathing area. Keep the things you will need within reach, and plan the drying space too. Preparation makes it easier to pay attention to your dog throughout the routine.

The checklist below separates general bath preparation from what comes in the Fur & Fresh Bath Day Kit. The kit contains three tools; it does not contain shampoo, a non-slip mat or other bath accessories.

Your bath-day checklist

You can tick this list as you prepare. It resets when the page is reloaded.

1. Set up the bathing and drying space

Place the shampoo, rinsing tool and towel within reach. Use a suitable non-slip surface in the tub or basin, and check the water before beginning: it should be comfortably warm, not hot. Keep your dog supervised throughout the bath.

If your dog has a prescribed skin-care routine or a condition that affects bathing, follow your veterinarian’s guidance. A general checklist cannot set the right shampoo, bath frequency or handling method for every dog.

2. Know the job of each tool

01Brush

Gentle preparation on a dry coat.

02Wash

A bath brush for the washing step.

03Pat dry

A hand-pocket towel for controlled handling.

Before the bath: a grooming brush

Use a brush appropriate for the coat, with light strokes. Our self-cleaning grooming brush has a button to release collected hair. Do not force it through tight mats. Pause if your dog is uncomfortable; ask a professional groomer about difficult tangles rather than pulling harder.

During the bath: a bath brush

Our silicone bath brush has a refillable shampoo dispenser. Use your dog’s appropriate shampoo according to its label, including any dilution instructions. Work gently and avoid the eyes, inner ears, wounds and irritated skin. Rinse the coat thoroughly. A dispenser brush does not replace the shampoo label or your dog’s individual care plan.

After rinsing: a towel

Place your hands in the towel pockets and gently press or pat the coat to take up surface water. Our towel is approximately 19.7 × 39.4 in. Coat thickness and wetness affect the amount of drying needed; one towel is not a promise of a fully dry coat in a fixed time.

3. Check what is included before ordering

Included in the Bath Day Kit

  • One self-cleaning grooming brush
  • One silicone bath brush with dispenser
  • One gray towel with hand pockets

Choose Blue or Pink matching brushes. The towel is gray in either kit.

Prepare separately

  • Your dog’s appropriate shampoo
  • A suitable non-slip mat or footing surface
  • A rinsing cup or sprayer, if needed
  • Any additional drying supplies for your dog

Shampoo, other bath accessories and gift packaging are not included.

The kit items may ship in separate packages, with separate tracking and arrival times. If you only need one tool, the bath brush and the other components are also sold individually.

4. Put the tools away ready for next time

Remove collected hair from the grooming brush and wipe it clean. Empty and rinse the bath brush, leave its cap open, and allow it to dry before storage. Follow the towel’s care label and let it dry before putting it away.

Keep the tool instructions with your supplies. Our How to Use guide is a quick starting point for the next routine.

Common questions

Does the shampoo dispenser come filled?

No. Shampoo is not included. Use a dog-appropriate product and follow its own label instructions.

Do I need the complete kit for every bath?

No. Choose tools based on your dog’s coat, comfort and what you already own. You can buy the bath brush or towel separately.

How often should I bathe my dog?

That depends on the dog, coat, activity and any skin-care needs. This preparation checklist does not set a universal schedule. Ask your veterinarian or groomer for advice suited to your dog.
